Australia’s newest University - Federation University Australia (formerly University of Ballarat) is the result of a collaborative partnership between the University of Ballarat and the Gippsland Campus of Monash University. Federation University Australia (FedUni) has officially commenced operations from 1 January 2014. FedUni is an attempt to offer the best facilities for higher education in Victoria by combining the facilities, student support services and academic expertise of the University of Ballarat and the Gippsland Campus of Monash University. The University of Ballarat itself had a history of providing tertiary education and training reaching back more than 130 years, being the third oldest tertiary institution in Australia. Known for its applied and practical programs and strong links to industry, FedUni is recognised internationally as a leading institution for innovation and enterprise, and for preparing its graduates for successful careers. FedUni is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities and its undergraduate and postgraduate programs are continually monitored to meet social and industry demands.
