The College emphasizes moral and intellectual education as well as all-round education, thus it seeks to widen students’ horizons through a variety of activities held locally and overseas. The College also encourages students to show concern for the society through participation in community services. The College’s Library is well-equipped with learning resources and facilities which enable students’ effective learning.
Hong Kong Nang Yan College of Higher Education (NYC) was founded in April 2014. Its precedent was the Hong Kong Buddhist College (HKBC) which was established in 1969, a private educational institution funded by the Hong Kong Buddhist Sangha Association. Since 2011, HKBC had been vigorously working towards becoming the Hong Kong Nang Yan College of Higher Education. In April 2014, HKBC was finally approved by the HKSAR Government to become Hong Kong Nang Yan College of Higher Education to award university-level 4-year full-time Degrees.
