In addition, in order to promote diversity of research and experience,it is possible for students to take courses related to the field of Culture and Communication Studies that are offered in other graduate schools at Waseda University, while credits can also be earned for periods of study abroad and through internships both at home and overseas.
"The course of study at GSICCS is divided into three Study Plans:Language & Communication; Culture and Communication; and Society& Communication.
As regards the organization of the curriculum, common required Introductory Courses and optional Basic Courses are shared by all three Study Plans. These are accompanied by Specialized Courses specific to each Study Plan, as well as Seminar Courses offering guidance concerning research topics and methods and composition of the Master's thesis. Moreover, the series of Related Courses offers the opportunity to acquire and develop communication and other practical skills. In this way, each study plan is constructed systematically so as to provide a good balance between breadth and depth of graduate-level study to all enrolled students."
