The School of Engineering of Antioquia was born in 1978 on the initiative of renowned people from academia, the government sector and the business sector, with the aim of creating an institution of higher education for training engineers with a global vision and academic excellence in a environment conducive to a comprehensive and personalized education, ethics training and ensuring ownership and development of the principles and values ​​that society demands engineers. The academic work began in 1979 with 38 candidates of Civil Engineering. Obtained legal status by order 20120 of 12 November 1979. Then began the process of growth by offering new programs. In 1982 Geological Engineering, Engineering Management in 1992, began in 1994 Industrial Engineering and Environmental Engineering, Computer Engineering in 1998 and Biomedical Engineering, the latter in partnership with the CES in 2004 Mechatronics Engineering; and in 2006 he began Biology, also in agreement with the CES. The graduate began in 1998 with the Specialization in Management of Production and Service, which followed the Specialization in Management of Engineering. In 2001 she started specialization in Corporate Finance, in 2002, the Specialization in Management and Processes Urban, in 2003 the Management of Global Markets specialization, and in 2006 the Specialization in Management of Engineering is replaced by the Specialization in Management Project.
