The Salesian presence in Ecuador is a social reality since January 1888, in response to the agreement signed by Don Bosco and the representative of the Government of Ecuador in Turin (Italy) in 1887, by which the Salesians it is hoped the Catholic Protectorate Arts and crafts in Quito, to "impart moral and scientific education to the common people and the development of domestic industry through systematic teaching of the craft."
Soon, the evangelical and educational work of the Salesians spread to other cities of Ecuador, highlighting the founding of the missions in the East as Ecuatroriano Gualaquiza (1893), Indanza (1914), Mendez (1915), Macas (1924) Sucúa (1931) and Lemon (1936). As education works well founded as those of Quito (1888) with arts and crafts workshops at the Catholic protectorate; Riobamba (1881) primary school, workshops and festive oratory is based; Cuenca (1893) begin workshops and festive oratory.
