The work of El Minuto de Dios was initiated with the aim of promoting the integral development of the human person and of both urban communities and rural areas, and as an expression of a Christian commitment to the poor, recognized as children of God and brothers of others; Also, as a requirement of solidarity struggle for justice and yearning for equality and peace. September 18, 1990 the first formal meeting of the Board of Founders, where appointing P. Mario Hormaza as Rector of the institution is done. The Board of Founders provisionally assumes the duties of the High Council and the Academic Council. ICFES are requested to operating licenses for six academic programs presented and some tentative policies are established for the administrative, financial and academic performance.
