The Lasallian University Corporation was born from the joint efforts of the Lasallian Alumni Association -ALDEA- and the Congregation of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, Lasallian District of Medellin, under the principles of shared mission together and by association.
By 1977 Dr. Juan Ernesto Velez Escobar with other alumni of the College of San Jose began to propose the project of creation of the Corporation, to provide continuity at the highest level, to educational work that met the Brothers in primary and secondary education of Lasallian schools. The May 26, 1982, in the Board Room of the College of San Jose, the Constitutive Act of the Lasallian University Corporation, which started its academic activities on February 6, 1984 with 161 students in the programs of Administration was signed Agricultural Business, Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and Food Engineering.
