Since its inception, SCE has grown significantly. The School is made up of faculty, research staff, administrative staff, and over 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students. The School is currently organised into four research areas: Hardware and Embedded Systems, Networks and Distributed Systems, Software and Information Systems, and Visual & Interactive Computing.
Now a member of the College of Engineering, SCE originated from the School of Applied Science that was established in 1988. Recognising the rapid growth in information systems and dedicated computing systems, SCE was formed in 2000 to offer undergraduate and graduate programmes in the fields of computer engineering and computer science. For over two decades, SCE has successfully produced exceptional engineers, arming each with the relevant competencies and life-long-learning skills to redefine the way we live.
