The current Chapingo (UACh) has its origins in the National School of Agriculture (ENA), which was founded officially on February 22, 1854, in the Convent of San Jacinto City Subsequently, the ENA moved to the ex-hacienda of Chapingo, which began operations on 20 November 1923. In this process of change, the school adopted the slogan "TEACH THE EXPLOITATION OF THE EARTH, not man," which is embodied in the Act Opening in Chapingo.
In 1969, under a democratic environment, the disappearance of military discipline is initiated, and in 1973 the establishment of self-discipline is achieved. At this time important reforms in government policies are brewing school, and presented two projects for the transformation of the university school; these were the UNRAM and UNACH, the last which was sent to the Legislative Bodies of the country for analysis and approval. The December 30, 1974, appears in the Official Gazette, the enactment of the "Act establishing the independent university CHAPINGO".
