In the UK we are a specialist English language training centre with expertise in General English, IELTS, English for Academic Purposes, English for Specific Purposes and English for Vocational Purposes. We offer a friendly environment and provide the training and education students desire and need. In the academic year 2013/2014 our full-time ELT students were extremely successful. 100% achieved their IELTS band targets and over 75% achieved higher than their target. Consequently, 100% gained admission onto higher education programmes in the UK.
Overseas we work with partner colleges, universities and government agencies to provide all aspects of educational training. A number of projects are currently on-going but highlights of the academic year 2013/2014 include establishing the first teacher training qualification for elementary and high school teachers of all subjects in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, the setting up of a Birmingham College office in Erbil, Kurdistan, and approval by the Chinese government’s International Labour Organisation (ILO) to provide training in China and the UK. Birmingham College is the only private UK training organisation to gain this status. We have the satisfaction of knowing that we can made a difference to people’s lives and are proud of the recognition we have gained from overseas governments and universities. We also greatly appreciate the recognition of our work by UNESCO and the Peace Wind Foundation (Japan) who have both agreed to work with Birmingham College.
