Batam Polytechnic (Polibatam) is the only State Universities (PTN) Vocational Education in the area of trade and free port of Batam, Bintan, and Karimun, Riau Islands Province. Located in one of the downtown area of national economic growth, Polibatam also located in the area of leading edge and the outer area of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia which is directly adjacent international waters. At first Polibatam the Private Higher Education under the Education Foundation consisting Batam Batam Authority, Institute of Technology Bandung, Batam City Government, and the University of Riau. Along with the development of performance and achievements during the decade, on October 18, 2010, the Government through the Minister of National Education Regulation No. 26 of 2010 stipulates Polibatam officially became State with the name of Batam Polytechnic. Thus began the academic year 2011/2012, the status of students and graduates Polibatam are students and graduates of State Universities or Universities Government.
