The University of Delhi released its third cut-off list on 6th July resulting in a wave of relief amongst students.
Many courses still had seats available and there was still scope for admission.
With the second list only filling 50% of the total available seats in the university, the third cut-off list saw almost a 20% rise in those numbers.
As of 10th July- when the admissions under the third list closed- 70% seats of various courses and colleges have been filled.
Although many colleges still had courses open at a significant drop in the cutoff, top courses and colleges have seen a marginal drop in cutoffs in the third list.
Due to the cancellation of admissions under the second list, many colleges have reopened admissions in conventional courses with a slight decrease in cutoffs.
English Hons has only been closed at four colleges- Dyal Singh, Mata Sundari, Gargi, and Satyawati evening. The highest cutoff was at 97% in LSR and lowest in Zakir Hussain Evening at 88%.
History Hons has been a popular choice this year, with admissions closing in about 18 colleges including LSR and Hindu. Admissions to this course are still open at top colleges like Miranda, Sri Venkateswara, and Hansraj.

The cutoffs at top colleges and courses are still sky high. Although many courses may open a few seats in various colleges due to cancellations- a steep drop in cutoffs cannot be expected.
SGTB Khalsa, that started admissions with the highest cutoff, with BSc. Electronics at 99.66% has got down the cutoff of that very course to 93.66% in the third list due to lack of admissions.
This year has witnessed some of the highest cutoffs, lowest initial admission rates, and great healthy competition.
