In India, applicants wishing to be admitted to different postgraduate medical programs, including Master of Surgery (MS), Postgraduate Diploma, and Doctor of Medicine (MD), must take the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduates, or NEET PG. A single-window entrance exam called NEET PG determines a candidate's eligibility for postgraduate medical programs offered by different medical schools around the nation.
For medical graduate hoping to pursue postgraduate study in a variety of specialization, the NEET PG exam is a prerequisite. It attempts to provide a uniform and equitable assessment of applicants’ knowledge and abilities, offering an open and merit-based admission procedure for postgraduate medical education in India.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates will be able to take the undergraduate medical entrance exam if they meet the NEET eligibility requirements listed below and submit their applications by the deadline. It is now required of aspirants who want to study medicine overseas but yet return to India to complete NEET. The following qualifications are required in order to take the NEET UG 2024 exam:
Minimum age: As of December 31, of the year of admission, candidates must have become 17 years old.
Maximum age limit for NEET exam: The exam has no upper age limit.
Citizens: The test is open to Indian citizens, Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), and foreign nationalities.
Each category's necessary class 12 percentage for the NEET 2024 exam is different and is shown below. The 12th grade NEET eligibility marks that are taken into consideration are the total marks for PCB subjects only:
UR = 50%, OBC/SC/ST = 40%, and PWD = 40%.
Qualification of NEET Exam 2024- The candidate must have completed Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects from an accredited board and have earned a 10+2 or comparable grade. Applicants for NEET who appear in class 12 or above are also eligible to apply. Those who pass class 12 and are pursuing biology as an extra subject are also qualified.
Exam Pattern
The NEET 2024 exam design specifies that it will be an offline, three-hour test that lasts for twenty minutes, using paper and pencil. There will be 200 questions on Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in the exam; 180 of those questions must be answered. There will be four answer alternatives or multiple-choice questions with an objective format. Using a blue or black ballpoint pen, shade the corresponding circle on the OMR page to indicate which response option is accurate.
There will be two portions for each subject, with 35 and 15 questions in each. In Section B, candidates must attempt 10 of the 15 questions, but in Section A, all 35 questions must be attempted. It is anticipated that the NEET UG 2024 exam format would not change from the previous year. A new NEET exam design for 2024 cannot be totally ruled out, nevertheless, considering the significant changes made to the syllabus and eligibility requirements.

Syllabus
The 2024 NEET syllabus has seen significant alterations. On November 22, NTA made available the NEET 2024 syllabus PDF. NMC has previously made the syllabus available on its official website. The NTA claims that providing the NEET curriculum PDF before of the application form or information pamphlet will assist students in organizing their study appropriately. The chapters are not divided between Class 11 and Class 12 chapters, in contrast to prior years. Additionally, the Chemistry portion of the NMC NEET syllabus has been divided into three sections: Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, and Physical Chemistry. In all three courses, several chapters and topics have been deleted, although other topics have also been added.
