On November 24, 2024, the CAT 2024 exam will be held in order to determine admission to 20 IIMs and other MBA programs in India. An examiner from among the top six IIMs administers it. IIM Calcutta is most likely to host CAT 2024. The first week of August 2024 will see the start of the CAT 2024 registration procedure, which will last until the third week of September 2023. On July 30, 2024, the official announcement will be made public.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The candidate must have graduated from an accredited university with a bachelor's degree with at least 50% of the total or an equivalent CGPA (45% of the total for SC, ST, and PWD/DA categories).

Candidates may also take the CAT 2024 exam if they are awaiting their results or are in their last year of a bachelor's degree or comparable certification.

Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC)

Inferences, Odd one out, One-word substitution, Syllogism and Analogies, Verbal logic. Reading comprehension passages, Grammar includes tenses, verbs, prepositions, and parts of speech, Para jumbles to rearrange jumbled sentences, Vocabulary consists of synonyms, antonyms, homonyms and homophones, Para-completion involves the completion of incomplete short and long sentences with the provided options. 

Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation (DILR)

Bar Graphs and Column Graphs, Binary Logic, Blood Relations, Calendars, Cubes, and Clocks, Caselets and Tables, Coding-Decoding, Combination of two or more types linked to each other, Connectives, Line Charts & Pie Chart, Logical Sequence, Matching/ Puzzles, Number and Letter Series, Seating Arrangement, Venn Diagrams.

Quantitative Aptitude

Arithmetic- Averages, Profit and Loss, Simple and Compound Interest, Mixture and Allegations, Percentage, Speed Time and Distance, Pipers and Cisterns, Ratio and Proportions and Simplification.

Algebra- Graphs, Linear Equations, Quadratic Equations, Higher Order Equation, Logarithms, Modulus, Inequalities, Maxima and Minima and Sequence and Series.

Number System- Base System, Divisibility, LCM & HCF, Complex Numbers, Factors, Remainders, Digits, Higher Powers, Surds and Indices.

Geometry- Circle, Polygons, Trigonometry, Coordinate Geometry, Quadrilaterals, Angles, Mensuration, Triangles and Parallel Lines.

Modern Math’s- Permutations and Combinations, Geometric Arrangements, Sequences and Series, Probability, Progressive and Roots.
