The Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT) is located in Cuiaba (campus-based) and in four other cities - Rondonopolis (South), Barra do Garças and Araguaia Pontal (East), Sinop (North). They are under construction the campus of Varzea Grande, a city adjoining the capital, and Unit II of the Campus Cuiabá.
