State Technical University of Quevedo (UTEQ), is located in Quevedo, central city and economic capital of the province of Los Rios. Our prestigious institution began on January 22, 1976, as University Extension's career Forestry and Animal Husbandry Engineering, under the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the University "Luis Vargas Torres" of Esmeraldas. We were created as Quevedo State Technical University by Law of the Republic of January 26, 1984, published in Official Gazette No. 674 of February 1, 1984. Our university is born with the creation of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, and School of Forestry, Animal Husbandry Engineering and Technology in Soil and Water Management and Agricultural Mechanization; then, over time the Faculty of Animal Husbandry is created. They are then created the School of Engineering in Agricultural Business Management and Agricultural, Agroindustrial and Agricultural Technology Survey.
