"UNSAM is a national, public and free university established in 1992. It offers a range of undergraduate and graduate students, in the field of humanities and social sciences as in the natural sciences." The initiative was origin in the Public Library of San Martin, driven by a group of neighbors. In July 1990, the deputy Antonio Libonatti appeared before the House of Representatives Bill Creation of the National University of San Martin. This initiative led to the founding of the UNSAM, the June 10, 1992, by the National Law No. 24,095.
