The University of Mendoza (UM) is an institution of higher education and private management, which is headed by a High Council made up their own teachers. Since 1960 it is strongly committed to achieving academic excellence, scientific research and community service. And it is from this academic field that opens and creates a space for communication among those who are interested in learning and who want to pass on their knowledge.
According to the Statute of the University of Mendoza, this institution was established on December 22, 1959, for a meeting that gave the first statutes. He began teaching the May 13, 1960 with the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, becoming the first law school in the province. In August 1962 he took his final legal form of constitution and the Government of Argentina, by Decree 14,179, recorded as the private university, giving it the rights and obligations emerging from the Law. For its part, the government of Mendoza, by Decree No. 3,043 / 62, the civil association registered as non-profit and the Ministry of Social Development of the Nation granted recognition feature public good through Resolution No. 44/87.
