The College was established in 1967 by Decision 124/CP of the Prime Minister on 14 January 1967 with the name of the University of Agriculture II, located in Viet Yen, Ha Bac (Bac Giang). In 1983, according to Decision No. 213/CP of the Chairman of the Ministerial Council on 5 August 1983, the University of Agriculture II was transferred to Hue to merge into Hue College of Forestry to Hue University of Agriculture II. In 1994, according to Decision No. 30/CP of the Prime Minister on 4 April 1994 on the establishment of Hue University, Hue University of Agriculture II was renamed Hue College of Agriculture and Forestry as a member of Hue University.

After that, Mr. Cao Kien Thiet was moved to the Northern European. To 1974, Ministry of Education and Training added Mr. Do Anh to become a Vice- Rector & appointed as a Rector in 1977. And then, MOET carried on naming some Vice- Rectors such as: Dr. Hoang Duc Phuong (1975-1978), Mr. Vu Van Tu (1977-1980), Mr. Nguyen Van Thong (1978-1981), Mr, Vu Mien (1981-1983), and Mr. Truong Dich (1979-1984).
