Polytechnic School of Chimborazo (ESPOCH), stems from the Superior Institute of Technology Chimborazo, created by Law No.6090 issued by the National Congress on April 18, 1969. He began his academic activities on May 2, 1972 School of Animal Husbandry Engineering, Nutrition and Dietetics and Mechanical Engineering. It opens on April 3, 1972.The September 28, 1973 is annexed School of Agricultural Sciences PUCE, adopting the designation of School of Agricultural Engineering.
According to Law 6909 of April 18, 1969, issued by the National Congress published by the Official Gazette No. 173 of May 7, 1969, the Technological Institute of Chimborazo is created, beginning his academic work on May 2, 1972. the change of name to Polytechnic School of Chimborazo ESPOCH is produced by Law No. 1223 of October 29, 1973 published in the Official Gazette No. 425 of November 6 of that year. School of Nutrition and Dietetics and Engineering became Zootécnica powers as stipulated in the Law on Higher Education in its relevant articles.
