Assumption College for Sisters has a rich history. The College has roots reaching back to 1853 when Pauline von Mallinckrodt established a Normal School for teachers within the Motherhouse in Paderborn, Germany. In 1953, Mendham, NJ, the Sisters of Christian Charity, founded by Pauline von Mallinckrodt, established a Sister Formation college within their own Motherhouse. Throughout the years, the College has evolved to meet the needs of our changing world. Currently, Assumption College serves Sisters from many different congregations from developing nations, as well as Sisters from the Sisters of Christian Charity’s own congregation. Nearly all students have been awarded full scholarships to the college.
